My name is Mason. Many people don't really like me so I'm kind of a reject at school. I only have one friend his name is Max. Today I was bullied more than usual so I wanted to do nothing but go home today. When I finally got home I ran to my room and cried. After I got myself together I wanted to do nothing but draw because that's what calms me down after a long day. I needed my equipment to draw. I opened the door, the room was pitch-black dark. A chill came over me; out of no-where I heard a sound. And then suddenly, out jumps a skeleton with green beaming eyes. I was never more frightened in my entire life. It seemed to be holding a book that had the year 6427 on it. I then attempted to pry the book from its cold, rusted hands. The book had the title Dunamis. When I opened the book it had a gold, rusted face plate. But here's the scary part. It had my full name on it. I had then called my best friend over to my house to see the frightening object. When he finally reached my house, I opened the book very carefully. Out came a cloud of dust and spiders. The bad thing is I'm severely allergic to both. I threw the book across the room. Afterwards I had to take my medicine for my allergies. When I came back the skeleton, my friend, and the book were all gone. I was so worried. I looked up Dunamis due to my pure curiousness. When I pulled up the page it said Dunamis is Greek for act of power. That meant the book gave the owner power. Not only may that it also be the reason he left. But the real question is why did it have my name on it? I was going to have to tell my parents I was going to be out late. To make matters any worse than what were already occurring both of my parents were gone. I've never been more alone in my entire life. But then I said to myself "I've got to toughen up to save my parents and my friend." Before I left I grabbed my flashlight, skateboard, & coat. When I sprinted outside I was greeted with something that really threw me off. Everyone on Earth was gone. How am I the last human? I then jumped on my skateboard and rode like there was no tomorrow. After hours of riding I got tired and needed shelter. I found a huge rock overshadowing a long patch of grass. I then sat down and thought until I went to sleep. When I woke up there was an old man watching me sleep. He had a long, scraggly beard. He then greeted me with his name Adonis. "Yeah, I'm Mason; nice to meet you." I knew I was going to have to befriend him due to us being the only 2 humans left. He told me to pack up my things because he had something to show me. I politely obeyed him and followed him. On the way there I asked "So, what do you do?" "Well, I'm the defender of the Dunamis which is an ancient scroll that gives the holder unlimited power." " And on top of that legend has it that every 5000 years an ancient beast named Nekros comes back to life to grab a hold of the book and when that occurs everyone on Earth is gone except for one person which is the next defender of the Dunamis." "That's you Mason." Adonis said finishing up his information. "So I'm destined to stop Nekros from destroying mankind as I know it?" "Yes." Adonis said satisfied. "B-but I'm only 13 years old." I said frightened. "I know Mason, but life throws many challenges at you even though most of the time you'll miss, this time you have to catch." "Mankind is counting on you Mason." Later we reached our destination. It was a huge castle. I've never seen anything like it in my entire life. Adonis then gave me a sword. It was heavier than how much I can stand. But somehow I could hold it perfectly. We both ran to the top to find Nekros. I saw he had Dunamis in his hands. Adonis charged after him with all his might and then Nekros opened the book and Adonis was sucked absorbed into the book. I realized it was up to me. We engaged in heavy sword-combat after a really hard swing Nekros was defeated. Suddenly I saw a huge ray of light. Being who I am I walked towards it. When I got through it I was in my room at my desk. At first I sadly knew this meant none of this happened. But then I looked to my left. Guess what I found? The Dunamis.
